Base Side Panels

Interfacing plates on the base of the sample chamber provide options for routing connections to the sample. The number of available interface panels is dependent on the base platform. These connections are in addition to the pre-installed low frequency electrical connections which come standard on every system. The side panels are designed to preserve sample chamber vacuum.

The standard options available for interfacing through the base side panel openings are outlined in the table below. Typically, these options must be requested when the system is originally ordered.

ELECTRICAL OPTIONS

Examples of some of the electrical interfacing options are shown in the images to the right. 

SIDE PANEL DOUBLER

The side panel doubler option turns a single side panel opening into two side panel openings. In this manner, a Cryostation with two side panels may be expanded to four side panels.

WINDOW FEEDTHROUGHS

Some of the connections can be routed through unused optical ports. These connections are typically easier to route, but must be removed when removing the outer housing and inner radiation shield for sample access. Due to this obstruction, window feedthrough interfaces are considered more diffficult to use.
