Job Description:

Montana Instruments, a growing high-tech Company in Bozeman Montana, is seeking an Engineering Operations Clerk for our Custom Engineering team. The qualified candidate will be responsible for supporting Custom Engineering with data entry and releasing parts data, BOM’s, and documentation for use by other departments. This is not an engineering position, but rather support staff for the engineers in terms of ERP (Epicor) data entry and process optimization.

Responsibilities include reviewing technical drawings and BOM’s for needed information, entering data into the ERP software, and ensuring correct organization of all engineering data for manufacturing, purchasing, and billing. Additional responsibilities include correcting and revising old data, qualifying vendors, and potentially working with engineers to create Sales Orders.

Position will require meticulous attention to detail and an enjoyment for accuracy. A passion for optimizing processes and serving other departments is strongly desired. This position will involve repetitive work that is essential for company functions, so the right personality is key to long-term success and satisfaction. The ideal candidate will enjoy working in an environment that focuses on quick/accurate results and will raise the bar for efficiency at Montana Instruments.

The Custom Engineering department creates many innovative designs over relatively short timelines, so an accurate and quick-paced work ethic is essential. No engineering or specific background is required other than general computer competency, as this is primarily a data-entry role. However, if you deeply enjoy ensuring accurate and organized data and numbers, this role is perfect for you!

Montana Instruments has an engaging and empowering team culture focused on innovating to solve real world problems. Montana Instruments relies on the effectiveness of each team member, so a successful candidate must demonstrate a high technical aptitude, ability and motivation to learn new technology and physics quickly, and the ability to communicate clearly and concisely with customers.

Key Qualifications:

  • Experience with Epicor or another ERP software strongly desired, but not required
  • Meticulous attention to detail with focus on accuracy and efficiency
  • Clear written and verbal communication
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • General computer competency – Microsoft Office products
