We are Looking For:

Montana Instruments is looking for a talented Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Technology Development team.  When you join, you will be a critical member of an ambitious, cross-functional teamworking to pioneer the development of novel product enabling cryogenic and vacuum technologies that will be essential to future products.  The ideal candidate will bring a strong mechanical engineering background and previous cryogenic design experience to investigate, design, prototype, and test novel designs and then support the technology transfer to the product development team. Knowledge of cryogenic and vacuum system design techniques is critical, as is the ability to develop innovative approaches that advance state-of-the-art and ultimately lead to high quality, manufacturable products.

Responsibilities:

·        Explore innovative mechanical, cryogenic, and vacuum technologies and concepts

·        Lead the design of next generation cryogenic and vacuum components and systems

·        Develop test plans and conduct experiments to validate designs and measure performance

·        Mentor other engineers on all aspects off mechanical, cryogenic, and vacuum technologies

Minimum Qualifications:

·        Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical discipline

·        8+ years relevant work experience designing or operating cryogenic and/or vacuum systems

Desired Skills:

·        Expertise in Solidworks CAD software and mechanical drawing standards (ASMEY14)

·        Experience with modeling, simulation tools, and analytical techniques such as Comsol and/or Ansys

·        Experience releasing high-tech products to market

·        Able to communicate technical concepts verbally and in writing across the organization
