1 Job Summary

The Electrical Engineer II will contribute to the design, simulation, prototyping, and testing of advanced electrical systems that drive the performance, reliability, and usability of our products. You’ll take ownership of engineering tasks and collaborate with a multidisciplinary R&D team to develop precision circuits, control systems, and interconnect solutions. This role supports new product introductions, custom development, and sustaining engineering efforts, with a focus on innovation, integration, and quality.

2 Essential Duties, Responsibilities, and Expectations

  • Design and develop electrical circuits and systems
  • Take ownership of engineering tasks across the full development cycle—from concept and simulation to prototyping, testing, and release
  • Collaborate with mechanical, software, firmware, and manufacturing engineers to integrate electrical components into complex systems
  • Conduct rigorous testing and troubleshooting to ensure performance, reliability, and compliance with design specifications
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation, including schematics, test procedures, and validation reports
  • Develop custom interconnect solutions that meet thermal and signal integrity requirements for high-performance systems
  • Support customer service and field teams to ensure deployed systems meet operational expectations
  • Interface with internal and external manufacturers to design and fabricate reliable, manufacturable electrical assemblies
  • Balance long-term engineering goals with short-term project deliverables in a fast-paced, dynamic R&D environment
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices in electrical design, simulation, and system integration

3 Minimum Qualifications (Experience / Education)

  • Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering
  • 2–5 years experience in circuit design and product development

4 Competencies // Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA’s)

  • Solid understanding of analog and digital electronics, with the ability to design and troubleshoot basic circuits
  • Proficiency in circuit design and simulation tools (e.g., Altium Designer, SPICE), and familiarity with PCB layout best practices
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and documentation
  • Familiarity with version control systems and engineering documentation standards
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills, with a focus on reliability and manufacturability
  • Effective communication skills, capable of articulating technical concepts across multidisciplinary teams
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks and contribute to project deliverables in a fast-paced environment
  • Exposure to cross-disciplinary integration and systems-level thinking
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and understanding of engineering workflows related to manufacturing and product lifecycle management

5 Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Altium Designer ECAD software
  • Experience with Altium 365
  • Experience developing electrical systems for scientific instruments or high-precision applications
  • Hands-on experience with prototyping, soldering, and lab-based testing of electrical systems
